Honda Civic Ferio Vi-RS

Honda Civic Ferio Vi-RS is a four-door sedan made by the car manufacturer Honda from the latter part of 1998 to 2000. It is considered a "sporty" version of the Honda Civic Ferio Vi, which was in manufacture from 1995 to the year 2000. It contains lot of special features to differentiate from other Civic Ferios. RS suffix is considered to mean "Road Sailing".[1] It was only available as a JDM[2] (Japanese Domestic Model)and belongs to the 6th generation of Civic.
Vi-RS has a D15B 3-stage VTEC engine [3] coupled with either 5-speed manual transmission or a Continuously variable transmission(CVT) called Honda Multimatic usually abbreviated as MMT[4]

Engine:
Civic Vi-RS has a D15B 3-stage VTEC engine with a displacement of 1.5l. The three stages are 12-valve mode, normal 16-valve mode, and finally the wild-cam mode. The wild-cam mode is said to have longer and higher camshaft lift. This 3-stage can be identified by seeing two solenoid valves near the engine block, which look like two silver capacitors.
Multimatic transmission:
Multimatic is a type of automatic transmission which does not have fixed gear shift ratios. Instead, it offers stepless-shifting by way of a variable diameter drive pulleys. In the Civic Vi-RS, there will be two toggle switches mounted on the right hand side of the steering wheel. One is labelled as "S1-S2", and other is "D". S2 is a more aggressive than S1, which means it has a higher gear ratio to achieve higher range of RPM quickly in order to activate the Wild-cam (3rd stage) mode. Each S1, S2, and D have their individual air-fuel-mapping in the engine control unit (ECU) with different behavior in acceleration.
Suspension and body:
Civic Vi-RS has double wishbone suspension which is said to offer better handling with stiffer suspension. For the body rigidity, it is fitted with front sway bar and a rear anti-roll bar, which links each of the front and rear suspension assemblies together. In addition, it contains front and rear under spoiler, and the regular spoiler installed in the factory itself.
Brakes and wheels:
All four wheels of the Civic Vi-RS are disc-type whereas regular cars come with the disc in front wheels and drum-type brakes in the rear. The wheels are 7-spoke 15' alloys, whereas the factory tire size is 195/55 R15 84V.
Interior:
The central console and the power window switches are made of carbon-fibre type finish. The seats are dual toned (blue and black)with cupped-like sporty looks. It has a map-reading lights in addition to the roof light.
